Kayaking in the Mangrove Lagoon

Hey there folks...

So Lando and I had Sunday and Monday off... it's so wonderful having two days off in a row! Well Sunday after church we headed out to do some kayaking in the Mangrove Lagoon. One of the companies we are agents for is called VI Eco tours and they do Kayak and snorkel tours. So we took out one of their two-person sit-on-top kayaks and headed out for our afternoon adventure.

The Mangrove Lagoon is so cool... it's so still and peaceful that you feel as if you are on a lake as opposed to the ocean. We'd often just stop and chill... as you can see Lando doing... he likes that picture cuz if you look in his sunglasses you can see me taking the picture... i don't know if it will come out on the internet, but see if you can see it.

I had gone out on the Cas Cay (pronounced "key") tour in october when we first got here and was so excited to show Lando the "Blow Hole." It's the hole in a rock formation that when the waves crash into it, the water spews out like the blow hole on a whale... pretty cool. Cas Cay is an island formed by the Mangrove trees. Mangroves are the only trees that can grow right in salt water. It's pretty cool to look down in the water and see all the roots.

The only bummer of the day was the awful sunburns we got... we remembered the sunscreen on our faces cuz we use it everyday... we just forgot the rest of our body... Lando isn't too bad cuz he's at the beach all the time, but my feet, stomach and shoulders don't see the sun much and are quite toasted... oops! I'll be puttin up another post with more pictures from this adventure... it was just too good a day to see only 4!

For Juliet

Flashback...

So Juliet wanted to see wedding pictues... so i selected a couple - it takes FOREVER to upload them so only three for now. One is the giant house we rented on the ocean complete with ten bedrooms, a home theatre with the most comfortable chairs in the world, a game room, a pool with a waterfall in the back, a hot tub... and a really cool master suite complete with fire place, jacuzzi, the largest shower i've ever seen and a remote to do absolutely everything! Fun times having a week in that house!

Another photo is one that many of you have already seen in the vertical version (which is much better) that we used as our "Thank You" cards. And the last is my favorite - it has the stick that was used by Steve during the ceremony to draw our "foundation" in the sand. After the ceremony everyone was heading back towards the house and we turned around just in time to see a dog run over and pee on the stick still stuck in the sand. Way to christin the wedding!!! Needless to say my Dad thought we needed that stick so he went back out later and got the stick, hid it in his shower and on the day my parents were leaving said to my mom, "here, we need to pack this." Lando and i were later surprised with the stick a few weeks later at a surprise reception that Zion had for us... pretty darn cool.

Anyway there you go jules... if anyone wants more wedding photos or stories let us know... i'll have lando write them... he's much better at it! Unless of course you want to talk about the wedding cake... Lando will have NONE of that nonsense!
